Is there a link between IFP Training and IFPEN (French Institute of Petroleum and New Energies)?
IFP Training is a subsidiary of IFPEN, a key player in research and innovation for the energy transition. IFP Training focuses on professional training and skills development for experts and technicians in these sectors, in direct connection with IFPEN’s research work and technological advancements.
We leverage IFPEN’s scientific and technical expertise to offer training programs tailored to the needs of the energy, mobility, and environmental industries.
What is the difference between IFP Training and IFP School?
Both organizations are part of the IFP Energies nouvelles ecosystem, but have distinct audiences and missions.
IFP Training specializes in continuing professional education for employees and companies in the energy, mobility, and environment sectors.
IFP School is an engineering school that trains students and recent graduates through master's programs related to the challenges of the energy transition.
Where are IFP Training’s training centers located, and where is the headquarters?
IFP Training operates five training centers strategically located across France to stay close to key players in the energy sector and meet clients’ local needs.
The headquarters is located in Rueil-Malmaison, near Paris.
- Rueil-Malmaison: Just 15 minutes from La Défense, this center is easily accessible for companies and professionals in the Paris region. It also houses IFP Training’s headquarters.
- Lillebonne : Located in Normandy, this center serves northern France.e.
- Pau : In the southwest, close to drilling and geothermal stakeholders, it meets the needs of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
- Lyon-Solaize : in the Rhône Valley, surrounded by chemical and petrochemical companies, this center is ideally placed for industry-relevant training.
- La Mède : In southern France, within TotalEnergies’ Oleum Sud site, this center offers immersive training with full-scale educational units.
Does IFP Training offer courses on the energy transition?
IFP Training offers more than 80 training programs on topics related to the energy transition, renewable energies, and decarbonization.
Our sessions are carefully designed to cover both the technical and economic aspects of these essential subjects. They explore the latest technological advancements, best practices, and current regulatory policies.
From energy management to carbon reduction strategies, our programs provide in-depth insight into the challenges and opportunities of transitioning toward a sustainable energy future.
Do I receive a certificate after attending a training course?
Some of our training programs lead to the issuance of an IFP Training Certificate or a certification recognized by the RNCP (such as the Operator Certificate) or the IWCF. These certificates validate the successful completion of the training and have been recognized in the industry for many years.
For other training programs, we provide participants with certificates of attendance. These confirm their presence and active participation in the course.

Where can I find a list of all the training programs offered?

Some of our training courses have specific prerequisites. This information is clearly indicated on the program descriptions in the prerequisites section to ensure that you can attend your course under the best conditions.
Training Formats
What is the difference between an inter-company session and an intra-company session?
Inter-company : participants from different companies come together at one of our training centers to benefit from the trainers’ expertise and shared experiences during a scheduled session.
Intra-company : these in-person sessions are organized exclusively for employees of the same company. In this case, you can choose the date and location—either at your premises or, if needed, at one of our centers.
Is it possible to organize an intra-company training session?
We fully understand how important it is for companies to benefit from programs tailored to their specific needs.

That’s why our training programs are designed to be easily adapted to the intra-company format, allowing a group of at least 10 employees from the same company to attend the same session.
By choosing this format, companies can benefit from customized training content, aligned with their business goals, specific challenges, and corporate culture.
Additionally, participants interact with colleagues they already know, fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment.
Is there an internal policy applicable to participants, and can I consult it?
Yes, there is an internal policy that applies to all participants during the entire duration of an IFP Training course.

The vast majority of our training programs can be delivered remotely, thanks to our interactive online platform and virtual communication tools.
However, it’s important to note that some sessions require practical components that cannot be fully conducted online. For example, programs involving field visits, hands-on workshops, simulations, or board-based learning games require physical presence to ensure an optimal learning experience.
For these programs, we offer hybrid sessions or complementary in-person modules to allow participants to fully benefit from practical and interactive activities.
Our goal remains to meet the individual needs of our participants while maintaining a high level of quality and educational engagement, regardless of the format chosen.
As a training organization, we are committed to providing a flexible and accessible learning experience for all our participants.
The Learning Platform (LMS)
Which online training platform is used?
All our training programs—whether remote or in-person—are supported by our LMS (Learning Management System), which enables:
- our lecturers to provide high-quality educational support and deliver content tailored to learners’ needs;
- and learners to access structured, sequenced content presented in a clear and coherent way.
In addition to our LMS, IFP Training uses other tools suited to remote learning, such as Wooclap for real-time interaction and Zoom for delivering live training sessions.
Are documents sent to participants after the training?
All documents provided during the training are available for viewing or download on our LMS (Learning Management System). An assessment questionnaire is also sent by email to participants at the end of each training session.
Can I access my training area after the course has ended?
You will be able to access it on our LMS and consult training materials for a period that varies depending on the type of course you attended.
What equipment is required to participate in a remote training session?
To attend a remote course under optimal conditions, you need a computer, a microphone, a headset, and a stable internet connection. These elements are essential to ensure active participation and high-quality interaction with our lecturer.
Should I forget my password to access the platform, what can I do?
Click on the “Forgot password” link on the login page. A reset email will be sent to the address you provided during registration.
Logistics
Are meals included in the training?
Yes, meals are included in our training offer.
Each training day, participants enjoy lunch in our company restaurant, in a space dedicated to learners.
We also provide two breaks. One in the morning and one in the afternoon, during which a selection of hot and cold beverages, as well as pastries, is available.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please don’t hesitate to inform our team by providing the participant’s name and the title of the training program.
What is the average duration of an IFP Training course?
The duration of our courses varies depending on several factors, including the level of the course and the chosen format.
In general, our inter-company sessions last between 3 and 5 days, allowing participants to quickly acquire specific skills in a given field while minimizing time away from work.
The duration may also vary based on the content and complexity of the topic. For example, our introductory-level courses can be condensed into a single day to provide a quick and effective overview of a particular subject.
On the other hand, some more advanced and specialized programs may extend over several months to ensure a deep understanding and practical application of the concepts taught.
What are the training hours?
Unless otherwise specified, our training sessions start at 9:00 AM and end between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
We guarantee 7 hours of training per day.
To allow participants to settle in comfortably, our centers open at 8:00 AM.
The schedule for the final day is set in agreement with the group to accommodate those who need to catch a train or flight.
Where does my training take place?
If you are enrolled in an inter-company training session, it will take place at one of IFP Training’s five centers. The specific center is indicated on the program sheet at the time of registration, in the registration confirmation email, and again in the official training notice.
Three weeks before the session begins, you will receive a training notice specifying:
- the address of the training center,
- the schedule,
- a location map,
- transportation options,
- nearby parking (please note: IFP Training does not have client parking facilities).
Registrations
How can I register a colleague for an IFP Training course?
Registration is done directly online via the link located on the right-hand side of each program page.

Phone registrations are not possible.

How to finalize my registration request?
- Select your course and add it to your cart. You must either finalize your registration request or remove the course from your cart if you wish to start a new request.
- Access your cart to review or remove the selected course.
- Click on "Submit" to proceed to a secure payment page.
- Once you have selected your payment method, your registration request will be processed.
What happens after submitting my registration request?
- You will immediately receive a confirmation email.
- A training agreement will be sent to you as soon as possible for each registered participant,
- All documents (invitation, pro forma invoice, attendance sheet) are digitized and sent by email.
Website Features
Can I add courses to my favorites?
You can add courses to your favorites from each program page by clicking the heart icon located below the dates or the contact button, provided you are logged into your client account.
How long does my cart remain active?
Your cart remains active for one hour. It will be cleared if you leave the page or log out.
How do I reset the password for my customer account?
You can request a password reset on the login page by clicking on reset my password. A password will be sent to the email address you used to create your account.
Modification or Cancellation
Can I modify my order?
Orders cannot be modified online.
For any changes, please contact us at the address provided in your registration confirmation.
How can I modify a training agreement?
Contact the relevant sales team by email, using the address used to send you your agreement. A new agreement will be sent to you once it has been modified.
The participant cannot attend the session they are registered for — how can I cancel their registration?
If the participant is unable to attend the session they are registered for, please contact the relevant sales team by email using the address provided in your registration confirmation.
Whenever possible, they will offer to reschedule to a later session or, if necessary, proceed with the cancellation of the registration.
In accordance with our General Terms and Conditions of Sale, cancellation or rescheduling requests are subject to notice periods and may incur fees depending on the notification date and the type of session.

Payment
What payment options are available?
- Bank transfer: The necessary banking details will be provided when you select this payment method during the final step of your registration request.
- Invoice payment: You can choose to pay by invoice by selecting “pro forma invoice” as your payment method.
- External funding (OPCO, FNE-Formation, etc.): If you are eligible, we will assist you with the necessary steps to ensure payment is covered by the funding organization.
Please note: Credit or debit card payments are currently not available.
My company needs an invoice before the training begins — can you provide one?
Yes, we can provide a pro forma invoice. Simply request it when selecting your payment method during the final step of the registration process.
A pro forma invoice is a preliminary document that does not constitute a payment request. It is mainly intended to inform you of the amount due and can be used to obtain funding approval (from your company, OPCO, etc.) before the training begins.
In what format will I receive the invoice?
The invoice will be sent in the format you specified when placing your order or submitting your registration request: by email in PDF format, via upload to a dedicated platform, or by postal mail, depending on your preferences and your organization’s requirements.
If you have specific invoicing needs (such as references to include, sending to a particular department, etc.), please mention them when placing your order or contact our sales team.
Funding
How can I finance a training course through an OPCO ?
Once your training plan is established, contact your OPCO (Skills Operator) to request financial support. The OPCO may cover all or part of the training costs.
OPCOs are organizations responsible for collecting professional training funds and redistributing them to companies to finance employee training programs. Each company is affiliated with a specific OPCO depending on its industry sector, so it is essential to identify which one applies to your organization.
Are IFP Training courses eligible for CPF funding?
IFP Training courses are not currently eligible for the CPF (personal training account).
Other external financing solutions may be available, particularly through OPCOs or the FNE-Formation, depending on your situation.
