Who should attend?

  • This course provides a thorough understanding of offshore installation and works, management challenges and control tools.
Public :
  • Field engineers and supervisors from the upstream sector who are responsible for the overall management of construction site activities.

Level :Skilled

Prerequisite :
  • Provide evidence of a professional experience of at least 1 month, related to the concerned field.

Course Content

  • DEVELOPMENT CONCEPTS - Duration : 1 Day

      • Evolution of development schemes. Fixed platforms. Floating units. Full subsea based developments.
  • CONTRACTING MATTERS - Duration : 0.75 Day

      • Field development process. EPCI contracts.
  • KEY STAKEHOLDERS & THEIR ROLE - Duration : 0.25 Day

      • National and International Oil Companies (NOC, IOC). Operators. Contractors and subcontractors.
  • ORGANIZATION & OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT - Duration : 0.5 Day

      • Organization: project objectives, development studies, project management team, installation campaign.
      • Offshore operations management: prior to offshore operations, work on offshore site. Management of offshore operations. Reporting.
  • OFFSHORE OPERATIONS - Duration : 2.5 Days

      • Generalities. Offshore development concepts. Fundamental offshore operations.
      • Installation of fixed platforms: load-out, sea fastening, transport. Launching, piling. Topsides installation.
      • Installation of floating units: TLP, SPAR, FPSO, semi-submersibles. Mooring systems.
      • Installation of subsea systems: mobilization of offshore spreads. Use of Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV). Diving operations.

Learning Objectives

  • Attendees will be able to implement the following skills:
  • Differentiate among the various installation processes,
  • Apply installation management skills,
  • Monitor and control quality and schedule during installation.

  • exercises for each step of the construction process,
  • numerous examples taken from Oil & Gas construction activities.
