  • Engineers, supervisors and lab professionals involved or interested in cementing in water, geothermal or oil/gas drilling operations.

  • TECHNIQUES & JOB PROCEDURES - Duration : 9 hours

      • Primary cementing.
      • Cement job design.
      • Job planning and preparation.
      • Casing running.
      • Cementing job.
      • Cementing calculations.
  • CEMENT & SLURRIES - Duration : 6 hours

      • Cement, cement with environmental impact reduction (CO2).
      • Special slurries and additives.
      • Formulation and laboratory tests.
      • Rheology of mud and slurries.
  • SPECIAL CASES - Duration : 6 hours

      • Multistage cement job.
      • Liner.
      • Cement plugs.
  • CEMENTING EQUIPMENT - Duration : 3 hours

      • Pumps.
      • Mixers.
      • Cementing head.
      • Cement plugs.
  • EVALUATION OF THE CEMENTING JOB - Duration : 4 hours

      • Principles and interpretation of the cement logs:
      • Thermometry.
      • Sonic (CBL - VDL).
      • Ultrasonic (USIT).
      • Log analysis on a real case.
  • KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT

Learning Objectives

  • Attendees will be able to implement the following skills:
  • Master the vocabulary specific to cementing,
  • Understand and use primary cementing techniques and procedures,
  • Select cement and necessary additives,
  • Calculate major parameters in a cementing operation,
  • Assess the quality of a cementing job.
