  • This course provides a comprehensive and practical understanding of methods and issues related to the reevaluation of mature hydrocarbons fields (brown fields) in order to optimize the production and increase the reserves.

  • PRINCIPLES OF RESERVOIR MANAGEMENT - Duration : 1 Day

      • Introduction to field redevelopment study.
      • Reserves evaluation.
      • Understanding the reservoir production energy.
      • Development using proven strategies.
      • Reservoir monitoring and data acquisition.
      • Application of improved recovery techniques.
      • Exercises.
  • RESERVES ESTIMATIONS, PROBLEMS IDENTIFICATION - Duration : 1 Day

      • Performance analysis and criteria for performance analysis methods.
      • Identifying shut-in or low PI’s wells.
      • Analyzing the surface gathering network and identifying the main bottlenecks.
      • Defining a monitoring plan.
      • Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) techniques.
      • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques.
      • Exercises.
  • PRINCIPLES OF RESERVOIR MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES - CASE STUDIES - Duration : 2 Days

      • Case study 1: Development of a reservoir with excessive gas production.
      • Case study n°2: Development of tight oil reservoirs (improved techniques).
      • Case study 3: Development of a mature field (proven strategies).
  • PROJECT ECONOMICS & RISK EVALUATION - Duration : 1 Day

      • Fundamentals of petroleum economics.
      • Economic evaluation criteria.
      • Uncertainty analysis and quantification.
      • Risk analysis and management.
      • Exercises.
