Who should attend?

  • The purpose of this training course is to give to the participants a better understanding of the CCUS technology various aspects from CO2 capture to storage and reuse.

  • This training is designed for technicians/engineers and decision makers working in industries that target CO2 emissions reduction and CCUS in their road map.

Prerequisite :
  • Engineer diploma or equivalent experience with knowledge of energy and carbon issues.

Course Content

  • PRESENTATION OF THE CCUS VALUE CHAIN - Duration : 0.75 Day

      • Context: share of the CCUS in the reduction of emissions.
      • Economics of CCUS projects: cost of each item.
      • Integration of CCUS in carbon-intensive industries.
      • R&D projects.
  • CO2 Treatment - Duration : 0.25 Day

      • Transport of CO2: pipeline, truck, sea, train…
      • CO2 compression: by compressor or by pump.
      • Feedback from projects.
  • CO2 storage - Duration : 1 Day

      • Reservoir Performance Prediction.
      • Geological characterization.
      • Integrity (well and reservoir).
      • Measurement, Monitoring and Verification (MMV).
      • Storage mechanisms and security.
  • CARBON CAPTURE AND ITS POSSIBLE USE - Duration : 1 Day

      • Detailled presentation of capture technologies (post-combustion, pre-combustion, oxycombustion, industrial processes).
      • Detail of the most promising technologies, type by type.
      • State of progress of R&D, pilot projects.
      • From CCS to CCUS, what possible uses for carbon? Industrial applications.
