Reservoir Characterization & Modeling (8 weeks)

This program is designed for Geologists, Geophysicists or Petroleum Engineers, of all backgrounds and with previous experience, who are or will be involved in integrated reservoir studies.

Reservoir Modeling is used to predict hydrocarbon yield and therefore cash flow evolution via the construction of a geological computer model. It is one of the most important in a typical study of a reservoir workflow.

To reach a reliable prediction, this static model must integrate all reservoir heterogeneities that can interfere with the fluid flow.

The objective of this course in to assimilate key concepts and methods required to properly characterize a reservoir and to build a reliable static model. Specific emphasis will be given to the integration of data from various sources and of different scales (geological, seismic, borehole log, core and dynamic fluid information).
